Merethe Soltvedt
(pronounced Maretta Soul*tvet)
About
Merethe Soltvedt, born and raised in Norway, basically came out singing. She wrote her first "real" song (in English) at the age of 10, and performed it in front of the entire school district with 8 back up singers. She played drums in the school marching band, picked up the guitar at age 14, started her first rock band at 16 where she played lead guitar inspired by Nuno Bettencourt and Dimebag Darrell. At 18 she rediscovered the acoustic guitar and the singer songwriter genre, and the direction was set.
Fast forward to the last few years she has performed at The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, done countless cuts for the Norwegian TV2, been featured on over a dozen albums by Two Steps From Hell, has released digitally available music on her own RedHeadRecords, and is featured vocally on a Nation Wide TV-Spot in the US.
These days, Merethe has relocated from Bergen, Norway to Los Angeles, California, where she continues to build her career.
