Merethe Soltvedt with Mike Datz

- Up Close and Personal -

Merethe Soltvedt (pronounced Maretta Soul*tvett) is a singer, songwriter and artist from the West Coast of Norway, now living and working in Los Angeles.

Internationally Merethe is mostly known for her vocal work with the composer Thomas Bergersen and the music production company Two Steps From Hell, also based in Los Angeles. With her performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall and millions of Youtube hits you would think maybe you´d heard some of it, but the Epic Orchestral Music you hear in movie trailers is not considered mainstream just yet... She did however sing on a track used on live tv by the winner of America´s Got Talent in 2013.
She also works with film music composers and TV-sound designers from all over the world.

On her label RedHeadRecords, Merethe has several releases of her own Singer Songwriter Pop Rock music, and she has performed in such cities as London, Amsterdam, Gothenburg and Oslo.

Since the end of May 2015, she has played acoustic sets around town at places like Molly Malone´s, Genghis Cohen and the Kibitz Room. With her on stage is the very impressive guitarist Mike Datz. Together they play stripped down versions of dynamic and big songs. Their Rock music backgrounds coupled with sensitivity and musical finesse invites the listener in to an emotional and moving soundscape as well as rocking it up.

Merethe´s song Shut Up or Change the Subject recently won the West Coast Songwriter Showcase/Contest in L.A.

- She may not be taller than 5´2” but her voice is 6´8” at least!
